Tibetan Mastiffs
It is summer coat time, so it is accepted that the TMs will not look at their very best. Maybe one day I will get to judge them in full coat.
Try getting someone else to move your dog for you outside the ring so that you can see for yourself. There are still a lot of dogs who are dishing, knitting & crossing forelegs, have weak hocks & move close behind. I know that the breeding plans will take time to improve on this & I can already see a difference from last year. I tried to balance my search for type & movement & was pleased with the movement of all my winners. All the dogs showed dignified acceptance of my intrusion.
PD (4) 1 Charlick’s Bheara Rolmo, well made quality youngster with excellent bone, neat feet, good plume, correct bite, topline held whilst showing steady movement, shows great promise & unlucky to come up against such a quality bitch puppy to narrowly lose out on BP; 2 Cawthorne’s Bheara Dom, gold, lovely head with kind expression, star on chest, excellent coat texture, good head crown; 3 D’anjou & Tansley’s Bheara Kyim. JD (1) A. PGD (9,4) 1 Hughes’ Darchen Jampo, grey with tan above eyes, tail held well on the move & displayed good controlled movement, well off for bone, good eye placement, carrying excellent mane; 2 Rogers’ Bheara Wangdak, b/t, close up to 1, deep chest provides good heart & lung room. Sensitive to handler holding his tail, but his natural tail carriage on the move was no problem. 3 Rees-Jones & Holliday’s Chortens Padma Sambhava. OD (6,1) 1 Sutton & Nagrecha’s Sierras Yogananda, this boy still stands out head to tail above the rest for me, I am told he may retire before too long, which gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand it will leave the field open for the rest, (who can be forgiven if they ever get despondent in coming up against this magnificent boy) & on the other hand it will be a pity, as he is such a great ambassador for the breed & I am sure has many years at the top still to give, both here & overseas. I feel honoured & privileged to have judged him. BD, BOB & G2; 2 Stratford’s Heronsview Chevrolet Lad of Wendanade, son of BD & following closely in his paw-prints, this impressive boy has a massive head on good shoulders & oozes type, good plume balances his outline, took a well deserved RBD on his overall construction & type coupled with his quality movement; 3 Gardiner’s Heronsview Cool Hand Luke.
PB (5,1) 1 Cawthorne’s Bheara Soma-Ketu, gold, displays such composure on one so young, sturdy straight legs & good shoulder placement, with very precise true movement, excellent pigment, will watch her future with interest. BP; 2 Thomas’ Jaxfryn Angelica Yazmin, b/t, not a nervous puppy as such, just confused about a lead as yet, this young lady has lots to offer. I am sure her continued socialisation & training will reap rewards. Once she gains in confidence she should trouble them all. Saw enough of her movement to prefer her construction to the others in this class; 3 Charlick’s Fallenoak Buddhas Daughter. JB (1) 1 Gardiner’s Heronsview Wildest Dancer, excellent muscletone, super forward reach & rear drive covering the ground easily, very sound bitch who is maturing well & should not be long moving up through the ranks to the top. PGB (6,1) So close between 1 & 2. Both show excellent type, good substance, well balanced, & could so easily have changed places. 1 just pipped 2 to the post with her better rear movement. 1 Adamson’s Darchen Charissa, b/t. RBB; 2 Gardiner’s Heronsview Keisha Queen, gold; 3 Worley’s Bheara Galme at Montasamara. OB (5,2) 1 Cawthorne’s Khukli Soma-lo at Bheara, loved this girl, at 9 years she can extend, drive & show the youngsters how to move straight & true, lovely type, impressive head with good coat furnishings & has that ‘It’ factor. BB, BV; 2 Allen’s Bheara Dawa Say GI Gold, excellent body, held shape on the move. Came up against her mother & just missed out; 3 Rees-Jones & Holliday’s Shang-Hai’s Chortens Shaydo.
